In 2017, we had started with big ideas for enabling a culture change for a sustainable Upper-Clutha. It involved opening a wholesale shop for which we received lots of support from the community and I am hugely grateful for this. However lack of sufficient funding meant this project could not proceed.
Our focus shifted on publishing a local magazine distributed to all letter boxes in our region, packed with practical positive ways to be more sustainable. We created two magazines in September and December 2018. I am proud of their content provided by generous and passionate local experts. And once again I thank all of you who sent beautiful feedback for them.
Once again insufficient funding didn’t eventuate from the projected advertising revenue, one of our managing trustees had to leave NZ for family reasons, and despite injecting $10,000 additional capital from personal funds, the economics didn’t stack up to continue publishing. I have therefore decided to turn to new adventures.
Like the Phoenix arising from the ashes, I am currently putting final touches to a new venture, one for which I hold great passion and which I look forward to sharing with you very soon.
Great thanks to all of you who supported EC in the past and to all of you who practice sustainability for the best of all, and the planet.
